Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
Stir in melted butter and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well.
In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture.
Stir until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips or walnuts if using.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 50–55 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the bread to cool before slicing.
Notes
Very ripe bananas give the best flavor and natural sweetness.
