Hello and welcome to The Tea Gatherer

Hi, I’m Joyce. This little corner of the internet is where I share simple, comforting recipes, cozy creative ideas, and everyday inspiration for real life.
I’m not a professional chef—just someone who loves good food that doesn’t feel stressful. I enjoy cooking meals that are practical, comforting, and meant to be shared. I also love small DIY projects and creative ideas that make a home feel warmer and more inviting.
While I’m not an expert traveler, I enjoy sharing relaxed, budget-friendly trips and tips that are actually doable.
Where It All Began
I was born and raised in the Philippines, where food was always about love, teamwork, and togetherness.
My mom taught herself how to cook after getting married, learning through cookbooks, practice, and patience. I spent many hours watching her work her quiet magic in the kitchen.
My dad cooked too—but in his own creative way. He loved setting the table, decorating for special occasions, and even frosting and designing cakes. He’s also a natural artist who enjoys painting and drawing.
Between the two of them, I learned to love both cooking and creating, and to appreciate the little details that make everyday life feel special.
Those lessons stayed with me even after moving to the United States, where I eventually found the confidence to start this blog and share the things I genuinely enjoy.
Life Today
These days I share life with my supportive husband and our food-loving little goofball, Lil’bit, who keeps us laughing and reminds us to slow down and enjoy the simple moments.
